Company Receives Award for Third Year in a Row, Rises in the Rankings
HERNDON, VA, June 21, 2023 – Expedition Technology (EXP), a leader in the development and deployment of novel solutions supporting the defense and intelligence communities, today announced it has been recognized by The Washington Post as a 2023 Top Workplace in the Washington, DC area. EXP achieved a #42 rank in the small business category, up 6 places from 2022. Nearly 7,000 local public, private, for profit, and nonprofit companies were invited to pursue a Top Workplace award, but only 200 made the list.

The Top Workplaces methodology focuses on people-first culture excellence, measured by employee input across 4 culture themes:
- Alignment – Company values and direction
- Connection – Employee appreciation and communication
- Coaching – Employee development and growth
- Performance – Innovation and execution
The survey of employees, administered by research partner Energage, LLC, also accounts for employee engagement (motivation and loyalty), corporate leadership, and perception of value (pay, benefits, training, and work/life flexibility). Energage and The Post determine rankings by comparing survey results to Top Workplaces benchmark data spanning 17 years, 27 million completed surveys, and 70,000 organizations.

The Washington Post hosted an awards ceremony on Thursday, June 15 to celebrate EXP and all the other top-ranked companies.
